Improvement of date selection in reports

Gents,

In order to make monthly or yearly graph comparisons for certain categories, I do a lot of manoeuvring for date selection to reach my goal, so I propose to modify the date selection mechanism or method to make the reporting and monthly or yearly comparisons easier, as per the attached photos.
